In this class, we will cook a couple of quick curries like the Thai Green Chicken Curry and Indian Chickpea Curry and another that requires longer cooking time, but the world-renowned beef rendang is definitely worth that extra bit of time and love. I will also share tips on how to get the perfect fluffy rice and we will go to another level cooking Turmeric rice which is not only delicious but has added health benefits. 

You will be welcomed with a 

Spicy Ginger Mint Fizz

Crushed mint, cinnamon syrup, a squeeze of lemon topped up with fizzy ginger beer 

You will learn:

- Knife sharpening and cutting skills

- Vegetable carving for garnish

- Presentation and plating skills

Recipes on this course may include:

Indonesian Beef Rendang

This melt in your mouth caramelised dry beef curry was traditionally served at ceremonial occasions in Indonesia to honour guests. It is rich from the thick coconut milk and a spice paste of galangal, turmeric, lemongrass, chilli, ginger, garlic and shallots.

Thai Green Chicken Curry

An authentic and aromatic curry, spicy with sweetness from palm sugar, its mild green colour derived from green chillies, fresh coriander, Thai sweet basil and kaffir lime leaves, slow-cooked with succulent breast of chicken, white aubergine, young bamboo tips and straw mushrooms.

Indian Chickpea Curry

Chickpeas cooked with fragrant curry leaves, ground turmeric, cumin, tomatoes, green chillies and a handful of torn fresh coriander.

Turmeric Rice

Buttered Jasmine rice with caramelised onion, ground turmeric and bay leaf simmered in vegetable broth.

This is a practical interactive cookery session, remember to bring your takeaway containers to bring home your masterpieces to show off your new skills!  All the ingredients, equipment, recipes and a working apron will be provided.  Asian tea will be served throughout the class.
